Building mobile apps with React Native

Building mobile apps with React Native

/ #Misc

Building apps with React Native is actually a great experience. And lately, i've built two of them.

I have tried to build a ton of different things over the years, but nothing has really taken off, and I have never really seen anything through. I tend to quit too early, and jump to something different.

If you've read my blog earlier, you've probably seen that I have started multiple things like SaaS, games, and then a SaaS again, or affiliate marketing, etc. And everytime I've either finished building, or during building, I start something else.

This time, it's mobile apps. I'm going to focus on building a few very simple apps, just so that I have something I can actually finish. I will try to build a small portfolio of mobile apps in 2026, and see where this takes me.

What apps have I built?

The first app I built and actually realeased, is an app called "Jotty - Daily Micro Journal". This helps you write one short entry to your journal every day. You can set an "alarm", and you'll get a push once a day to remind you. This is something I was looking for my self, so why not just build it my self?

The second app is called "HabloLocal", but this isn't published yet (currently waiting for review by Apple). This is a language based or "slang" based app where you can learn Spanish words and phrases that the locals use.
